What is Sherborn Dollars for Scholars?

In 1965, Sherborn Dollars for Scholars (SDFS) was established as a locally operated and supported member of Scholarship America, the nation’s largest private sector scholarship organization. Over the course of 40 years, SDFS has awarded more than $400,000 to Sherborn students pursuing their college goals.

The sole purpose of Sherborn Dollars for Scholars is to help Sherborn students meet the ever-increasing costs of a college education. Funded entirely through contributions made by residents of Sherborn, SDFS provides an invaluable opportunity to help students attend the college of their choice. Increasingly, more families are feeling the tremendous financial strain associated with the soaring costs of a college education. Sherborn Dollars for Scholars seeks to help off-set these costs.

Our Goal.

Sherborn Dollars for Scholars is committed to continuing its efforts to raise and distribute scholarship funds that will go directly to students to help fund their college education. With the ever-increasing costs of higher education, the need for scholarship assistance has never been greater. We hope that you share this concern for and commitment to our community’s students and that you will help us meet this goal.

How Can You Help?

Each contributing Sherborn resident makes Sherborn Dollars for Scholars work, for without the community’s support this scholarship program could not exist. We encourage you to give as generously as you can. Your contribution reflects your pride in our students and your commitment to the on-going higher education of our  community’s youth. If your employer offers a matching gift program, please utilize that opportunity to maximize your support for Sherborn students. All donations are tax deductible. Our Board is an all volunteer organization, so every dollar contributed is applied directly to our scholarship fund. Your support does make a difference.
